Meet Megan Chavana, DDS
Dentist
Dr. Megan Chavana grew up in the small coastal town of Port Lavaca, Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Austin as an undergrad and earned her doctor of dental surgery at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry. Dr. Megan has been trained in many areas of dentistry and is comfortable seeing patients of varying needs. She puts a heavy emphasis on patient education and preventative measures so that her patients can succeed with long-term oral health.
Shortly after graduation, Dr. Megan, her husband, and corgi (named Charlie) made Nashville their home. Every summer until she moved to Nashville, she worked at her family’s snow cone business that they purchased when she was in the 7th grade. On the weekends, Dr. Megan enjoys baking, cooking, and playing tennis.
Meet James Fleming, DDS
Dentist
Dr. James Fleming was raised in Columbia, Tennessee and attended Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He continued his education at The University of Tennessee, College of Dentistry where he was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery.
Dr. Fleming regularly attends continuing education courses in Cosmetic & Aesthetic Dentistry, Laser Dentistry, Implants, Endodontics, as well as General Restorative Dentistry. He maintains active membership in The American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, The Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and many others. Dr. Fleming was voted into 2016, 2017, and 2018 Top Nashville Dentist for Nashville Lifestyles.
Together with his lovely wife Cheryl, Dr. Fleming enjoys spending time with his two sons, Mac and Swope. They enjoy activities such as boating, hunting fishing, and spending time on his family’s farm.
Meet Michael Vaughan, DDS
Dentist
Dr. Micheal Vaughan grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and attended Vanderbilt University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He studied German and History at the University of Regensburg in Germany. Dr. Vaughan graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and completed a 2 year General Practice residency at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Vaughan is an active member of the Nashville Dental Society, the Tennessee Dental Association and the American Dental Association. Dr. Vaughan received the designation “Fellow” in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1999 and was Editor for the Tennessee Academy of General Dentistry from 1999-2004.
Dr. Vaughan learned the technique of intravenous or IV Sedation at Vanderbilt University and holds a Comprehensive Conscious Sedation License to use both oral & IV conscious sedation in the practice of dentistry. He is certified in both Basic Life Support & Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Dr. Vaughan likes to spend free time with his wife and daughters, Megan and Mollie, and visiting family in California and North Carolina.
Robert S. Elam, DDS, MAGD
Honorary Partner
Dr. Robert S. Elam is an honorary team member at Dentistry of Nashville and was an integral part of building a Nashville Tradition of Excellence. In 2020, Dr. Bob made the decision to retire and allow the Elam legacy to continue through Dr. Vaughan and Dr. Fleming.

Lori is one of the first faces you’ll see here at Dentistry of Nashville! She’s been with the practice since 2006. She’ll make sure you understand every aspect of your appointment. In her free time, Lori loves spending time with her two daughters.

Anna | Registered Dental Hygienist
Anna’s career in dental career started in 2016 when she was accepted into the Dental Hygiene program at Northeast Mississippi Community College. She has been working at Dentistry of Nashville as a RDH since graduating in May of 2018. Thanks to her western Tennessee upbringing, outside of the office you can find Anna doing all things outdoors such as hiking, kayaking, and ATV-ing with family and friends!
Jenny | Registered Dental Hygienist
Jenny joined the dental world in 2019 after becoming a certified RDH and joining the Dentistry of Nashville team. She loves being able to help patients be comfortable at the dentist and have confidence in their smiles. Outside of the office, you can find Jenny traveling, hiking, and spending time with her two kids, Caroline and Willow!

Born and raised in Nashville, Melissa has had a very diverse career background. She started in the dental industry and moved on to start a business in landscaping. Melissa has found her passion for dentistry again at Dentistry of Nashville. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her two fur babies, Sidney and Roxi.
Jayme | Registered Dental Assistant
Jayme’s passion to help create beautiful smiles makes her an excellent fit here at our office. She enjoys spending time with her family and watching Monday Night Football. Go Titans!
Lisa | Registered Dental Assistant
Lisa started at Dentistry of Nashville in 2019. She enjoys making your appointment all about you! Whether that’s brightening your smile, giving you a compliment, or just helping you out in some small way, you’ll leave a bit brighter. A fun fact about Lisa, she is one of 9 children and belongs to a motorcycle club!
