Like many of us, an ideal morning probably starts off with a great cup of coffee. With that being said, we’re constantly on the lookout for great coffee shops in the area and with Small Business Saturday just passing, we’re even more inclined to choose a locally-owned coffee shop. Going with our previous post about great local businesses like All Seasons Gardening or BookManBookWoman, Drs. Elam, Vaughan, and Fleming have another small business in the community to spotlight. Do you have a weakness for freshly brewed coffee? Us too! That’s why we were so ecstatic to find a hidden gem like The Jam Coffee House.
Walking into the coffee shop is like being transported to a different period with the retro decor and trinkets around the shop. With a classic 1950s vibe, it’s hard not to find The Jam Coffee House unique and charming. What is particularly great about this coffee shop is the welcoming environment created by the owners and baristas. There are plenty of other coffee shops that can be quite stuffy and pretentious, but this coffee shop is cozy and inviting. The even have a retro style kitchen with their baristas behind the counter serving coffee in 1950s aprons.
Another standout feature of The Jam Coffeehouse is their commitment to the community and using wholesome ingredients. They use coffee beans that are prepared by Beck’s Farmhouse Coffee and Tea, a local roaster in Joelton, TN. They also use non-homogenized milk from JD Country Milk of Russellville, KY and bread for their food items are supplied locally Provence Bread. You’ll also have plenty to choose from when it comes to coffee and teas. They have a range of fair and direct trade coffee and single origin coffee, along with more than 50 different types of organic, fair trade, and handcrafted loose-leaf teas.
Whether you’re a fan of just simple brewed coffee or sweet, handcrafted tea-lattes, there is something on the menu for everyone at The Jam Coffee House. The have classic staple espresso beverages like americanos, lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, and white mochas. They are particularly famous for the unique options they have available for special tea lattes. Great options on the menu include a jazzberry tea latte, which includes blueberry jasmine tea with milk and agave, a valentine tea latte, which includes vanilla berry truffle tea with milk and agave, and a velvet revolver tea latte, which includes vanilla, chocolate, and mint tea with milk and agave.
Looking for something to snack on while enjoying your coffee or tea? The Jam Coffee House has plenty of options for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, you can choose from options like a breakfast sandwich, breakfast trio, steel cut oatmeal, and good morning tacos. Their good morning tacos seems to be especially popular for many of their customers. Lunch options at The Jam Coffee House include the chix salad sandwich, veggie reggie sandwich, mama mia sandwich, and a gobble or bok bok panini.
This is also a great location for anyone with specific dietary restrictions or preferences. They have a good selection of vegan and gluten-free options. Their paleo donut or Lacy’s gluten-free muffins looked delicious and seem like great options for customers with a strict dietary preferences. They also have a selection of non-dairy options including almond milk, rice milk or soy milk for those of you looking to enjoy a dairy-free beverage.
The warm and friendly staff along with delicious drinks and food options made with high-quality ingredients make The Jam Coffee House a must-try spot for all coffee and tea lovers in Nashville.
